The Borough of Clark in Mercer County, Pennsylvania, has a unique history shaped by the creation of the Shenango River Lake. Originally named Clarksville, this lakeside community of around 650 residents was relocated in the early 1960s to make way for a flood control dam. Many residents moved their existing homes to new lots, while others built new houses, creating the modern-day Clark. Since 1967, Chatfield has been a part of Clark's story, providing essential services like well drilling, pump and tank installation, and water treatment to support the growing community. Remnants of old Clarksville, including streets and the former main road, can sometimes be seen when the lake's water level is low. Today, a marina stands where businesses and homes once stood, a testament to the town's transformation. With new infrastructure established in 1968, Clark embraced its new identity and continues to thrive as a peaceful residential community.
